Many “Dance Moms” fans are anxious to know just what the status is of Kelly Hyland and her daughters Brooke and Paige after the big fight with Abby. The fight was seen in last week's episode, but it happened during taping last November. Now there are police reports, charges and lawsuits, and Deadline covered the details of where things stand at this point.
According to Deadline and the court papers filed, Kelly Hyland maintains that she's been told she is suspended from the show. She says, however, that she has not received written confirmation of this. Abby Lee Miller made reference in her recent appearance on “The View” to the Hylands continuing to be involved in filming, but that Brooke and Paige are no longer competing with the team. That's about as much confirmation as anyone has seen as of yet regarding the status of the Hylands with the show.
Hyland was arrested after the fight with Miller, and she has been in court over the incident. However, now she has filed a lawsuit herself against Abby Lee Miller and those associated with “Dance Moms.” She is seeking $5 million in punitive damages. That makes it pretty clear that even if Kelly, Brooke and Paige are still seen to some degree on “Dance Moms” this season, they surely won't be on the show in the future.
Both Abby Lee Miller and Kelly Hyland have their fair share of supporters. Some say they won't watch if Brooke and Paige are gone, while others say they think it's time Kelly and her girls headed elsewhere. Tune in to “Dance Moms” on Tuesday, Feb. 18 to see the fallout from the fight and learn just what happens from here.
