The third International Congress on Islamic Feminism

Some of the world's leading Islamic feminists have been gathered in Barcelona for the third International Congress on Islamic Feminism, to discuss the issues women face in the Muslim world. In the picture some of the women taking part in the conference explained the problems in their home countries, and where they hoped to make progress.

There are different thoughts from women all over the world. But Islam is the best religion who instructed more about woman’s respect at many occasions in The Quran. Islam is the first religion who included woman's share in their parents’ property and introduced the concept of woman role in social affairs. She is used to called mother of nation.

Woman is always obliging and supportive to her society and we saw many examples in the period of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) that woman had a very key role in spreading Islam in many regions. But there are very few restrictions on woman in order to protect her principles and integrity as she is a mother of nation. And these restrictions are found very practical in avoiding sexual harassment from society.

So Sharia is fair, and hold rights of woman but it is the wrong interpretations that are the problem. Male judges often don't understand the principal goals of sharia
