The 'American Idol' contestant,, dropped a massive amount of weight since she started her fitness plan in 2010, and the singer has never felt better! Even though there is a lot of controversy surrounding the extreme methods employed by some people to lose weight, Hudson still came out with her drastic weight loss secret and insisted that one should never listen to what other people have to say and focus on the positives only.
The debate over drastic weight loss by some people started last week when the winner of 'The Biggest Loser', Rachel Fredrickson debuted her slimmed down body. Fredrickson initially weighed 260 pounds, but after just seven months of following the diet, she was down to 105 pounds. The winner of the show shed nearly 60% of her body weight by following the show's rigorous exercise and diet regimen.
Soon after Fredrickson appeared with a trimmed down figure, there were many people who criticised her for the massive weight loss and even speculated that the contestant employed unhealthy means to lose all that weight. Amidst all this debate and criticism, Hudson showed off her thin frame and urged people who are on a weight-loss journey to discount what the haters have to say.
Like Fredrickson, the 32-year-old singer lost a total of 80 pounds and she even received a lot of backlash of haters, who complained that she got too thin, too fast.
"The key about losing weight: You have to do it for you," she said to People on the BET Honors red carpet (Feb 10th). "It's not about even starting the journey, it's about you. You have to want to do it. And you can't let what everyone has to say overshadow what you want for you."
To get to the present weight, Hudson followed the Weight Watchers programme and lost most of her weight in the initial nine months of the programme. She controlled her diet and followed an extensive work-out regimen prescribed in the program.
The singer also explained how she maintained her weight by "tracking my points - sticking with the plan with Weight Watchers. That's what I try to do and take it with me everywhere I go."
Hudson, the singer who made it big after 'American Idol', is also an actress and has starred in the famous movie 'Dreamgirls'. She was appointed as an official spokesperson for the Weight Watchers brand in 2010, and she is still their ambassador.
