BALL GROUND, GA (Tue, Dec 31) – Reported by madn3wz
This is really a sad ending of the year 2013 for a family who lost 25-year-old Kali Dobson in a car crash just after 24 hours of her wedding.
According to details; Dobson and her husband, 27-year-old Ryan Quinton, had just left their wedding reception at the nearby Wheeler House on Sunday when Quinton, who was driving the car, lost control of his Pontiac Firebird trying to avoid hitting a dog on the road. The car veered off the road and rolled down an embankment.
Dobson, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown out of the car — which landed on her after it rolled down an ridge. She died before rescue could be called to the spot.
Another driver, Chris Thomas, spotted Quinton scrambling on the road with bloodied and torn dress. He called 911 for help while trying to calm the depressed groom.
"His shirt was all torn up and he was bleeding. He had blood all over his face and blood coming out of his hands and stuff and just looked bad. And it scared me to death," Thomas told while talking to Channel 2.
“There was nothing that could be done,” Thomas told further. “The car was on top of her. You couldn’t even see her.”
Investigators from the Georgia State Patrol have said that Quinton told them he diverged trying to avoid a dog that suddenly came on the way. GSP say they'll conduct a blood test to determine whether any charges will be filed.
