Shelling of Paramilitary Forces Killed One and Injured Three In Pindiali,Mohmand Agency

GHALLANAI: A minor girl was killed and three others sustained injuries when a mortar shell being fired from Ghalanai, regional headquarters, fell on a house on Saturday in tehsil Pindialai, sources told.

Paramilitary forces of Mohmand Rifles (MR) started heavy shelling from Ghalanai after their convoy was attacked by unknown gunmen at Woran Pul area of tehsil Pindiali a short while before when the convoy was heading from Peshawar to Ghallanai. Just after the attack, MR targeted the suspected areas in lower region of Pindialai. Sources told The News that at least 8 shells were fired one of which hit the house of Asif Khan killing his daughter, 10, sister, wife and 17-years-old brother. Earlier local Taliban have been searching the vehicles on the main Peshawar-Bajaur road for several hours near to Sharmakhano Check post.
