While no one knows for sure whether extraterrestrials are interested in studying earthlings or whether they would be friendly towards us once they land on Earth in one of their UFOs, reports keep surfacing of sightings of unexplained UFOs from various locations like Queensland or the Tucson desert or over Russia or South Africa or Sri Lanka ...
Our curiosity remains to find out the truth ... so here goes the sightings of 2013 ..
January - in the tropical town of Cardwell in North Queensland
The UFO sightings are from at least four residents of Cardwell in North Queensland in the coastal area, 165-KM north of Townsville.
One of them was a local businessman, who recorded two lights moving side-by-side through the sky - he is believed to be the world's biggest skeptic and he has admitted that there were two large orange lights... no beam and no noise.
Another couple of Cardwell have reported seeing it twice two nights in a row.
Purple spheres found in the Tucson desert
The sudden appearance of thousands of purple spheres in the middle of the Tucson desert has baffled everyone - some of the spheres were watery and others were translucent.
The spheres were seen by a couple who had gone for a morning walk and they have taken a snapshot of the strange sight.
Did they come from an alien planet and left back by some UFO to observe the reaction of humans?
An UFO saves the Earth by blasting a meteorite headed for Russia
UFO-logists are excited at seeing an UFO blast to smithereens a meteorite that was headed for Russia - it exploded and crashed in the Ural Mountains.
It seems a hazy image shows an object striking the meteorite as it flew over the city of Chelyabinsk in the morning and there was no report of Russia sending up any missile to intercept the meteorite.
Incidentally, the meteorite exploded in the atmosphere with the force of a N-bomb with intensity 30 times greater than that which destroyed Hiroshima and caused extensive damages to the city apart from injuring over 1200 persons.
UFO seen in South Africa
From Russia, the scene now shifts to South Africa - between February 21 and February 27 there have been reports of people seeing bright orange lights and flames in the sky that have no plausible explanation.
While some of these sightings could be due to meteor showers, others could have a more interesting explanation as revealed by Gert Jordaan, founder of UFO Research of SA.
There is confusion because there had been a report of an aircraft crash on February 24 in Port Alfred, in the Eastern Cape - it was from a "credible witness" but the rescue team could not find the crashed aircraft!!
Fossilized remains of Extra Terrestrials rain down on Sri Lanka -
Sri Lankan scientists, while examining fragments of a meteorite have discovered traces of fossilized extraterrestrial lifeforms embedded in the fragments.
These algae-like structures identified by electron microscope images of the rocks would lend credence to the theory that life does exist elsewhere in the Universe.
In the opinion of the scientists, these findings can be considered to be an evidence of panspermia or the hypothesis that life is there throughout the Universe and is spread by meteoroids, asteroids and planetoids.
