Martin Bashir insults Sarah palin

Days after taking time-off to reflect on his future, embattled MSNBC host Martin Bashir has resigned effective immediately. The host of MSNBC, hosting Martin Bashir and correspondent for Dateline NBC had come under extreme crticism for his expletive laden crticism of ex Republican Governor from Alaska Sarah Palin. The comments were so vile that he was forced to issue an on air personal apology to Palin.

His scripted apology apparently did not go far enough as the cries for his firing ultimately just became a major distraction to the network and it's other hosts.

In his resignation, Bashir said:

"Upon further reflection, and after meeting with the President of MSNBC, I have tendered my resignation. It is my sincere hope that all of my colleagues, at this special network, will be allowed to focus on the issues that matter without the distraction of myself or my ill-judged comments."

He then went on to say that he deeply regretted what he said but he never once mentions Palin's name.

Opinion:

Good riddance and hopefully MSNBC will start to take a different attitude towards Conservative women and defend them as ardently as they would any other member of society regardless of their political views. To make reference to defacating & urinating in someone's mouth - in this case the ex-governor of a state, is irreprehensible & disgusting. I am upset that MSNBC gave this character a chance to leave on his own terms. I would have given MSNBC more credibility if they had instead pre-empted his resignation and just fired him.
