The Boston Red Sox wins the World Series by defeating the St Louis Cardinals in 6-1 win on Wednesday night. That means the city of Boston will host a another duckboat victory parade for the 2013 World Series Champion that is scheduled this Saturday November 2.
According to Boston Mayor Tom Menino via Boston Magazine, the Red Sox Duckboat parade will take place on Saturday, which gives sports fans all over New England a few days to plan a trip to Boston and join in on the celebrations.
What time the Rolling Parade begins?
The Red Sox Duckboat Parade will begin starting at 10 a.m. “The ducks are ready. The fans are ready. The city is ready,” Menino said on Thursday, during a press conference. He also tweeted, “The ducks will start at 10am at #Fenway, bring our champions down Boylston Street, and finish with the traditional splash in the Charles.”
Although Red Sox parade route are still the same Boston has done it in 2004 and 2007. This time close to 20 ducks boats will start rolling from Fenway Park as the members of the team rode on amphibious vehicles called the duckboats. From Fenway Park the parade route goes down to Boylston Street then through Copley Square. The parade continues to follow Boylston along the lower part of Boston Common then turn left onto Tremont and continue past City Hall Plaza.
The 2007 rolling rally parade pause briefly at three spots that is Copley, Boston Common and City Hall. The parade will end at New Chardon and Cambridge Streets. The difference of 2004 parade to 2007 is the duckboats didn’t go through Charles river.
What is the Red Sox Parade outfit of the day? #ootd
Since the Parade happens the day after Halloween, Boston themed outfits would be golden. Any Red Sox apparel jerseys or hats and don’t forget the beard. That would be any kind of beards both for children or adults. In honor of MVP, maybe a Big Papi helmet outfit with snow skiing glasses he wore on dugout celebration works fine too. This will be Ortiz third victory parade his part of after being part of winning it in 2004 and 2007.
Best Red Sox Parade gadgets?
Attendees can expect a heavy police presence as well as increased security. The city is still formulating the details of the rolling rally, but basically, avoid carrying big backpacks and for security reasons. Smart phones and cameras would be the best gadgets for snapping pictures of players or any shots you like worthy of tweeting or Instagraming.
