What's happening to the world's most powerful democracy the U.S.A in the light of its government shutdown?

The long time tested and time honored two U.S party system is now showing its weakness in the current shutdown of the U.S. federal government consequent of Republican lawmakers' failure to work with Democrats and President Barack Obama.

This is a great shame to the most powerful democracy in the world. Republicans are now choking the American people because they failed to do their jobs as people's representatives instead, they thought they owned America. They failed to work for the common good of all Americans.

Since the other party failed to work cooperatively with the present administration, they are giving the hint that what the U.S. needs this time is "Martial Law" in order for the president to save the nation from further deterioration politically, socially and economically.
