Al Jazeera has gained exclusive access to a secret network of Taliban bases hidden deep inside Afghanistan's Herat province.
The bases are run by Ghullam Yahya Akbari, the former mayor of Herat. He says he and his men are fighting to oust foreign troops from Afghan soil.
Al Jazeera's Dan Nolan reports from Kabul.
