The Tampa Bay Rays hit the road again to go up against the Boston Red Sox in this American League Divisional Series. Let's check out the matchup in this AL East rivalry.

Catcher: The Rays will look to go with defense with Jose Molina (.237, 2 HR, 18 RBI). The Red Sox has one of the best catchers in baseball in Jarrod Saltalamacchia (.273, 14 HR, 65 RBI). Advantage: Red Sox.

First Base: Rays 1B James Loney (.300, 13 HR, 75 RBI) and Red Sox 1B Mike Napoli (.259, 23 HR, 92 RBI) both regained their hitting groove this season. Advantage: Even.

Second Base: Both teams have two of the best 2B in the league: Rays Ben Zobrist (.275, 12 HR, 71 RBI) and Red Sox Dustin Pedroia (.301, 9 HR, 84 RBI). Advantage: Even.

Shortstop: Both teams have solid veterans at short: Rays Yunel Escobar (.257, 9 HR, 56 RBI) and Red Sox Stephen Drew (.253, 13 HR, 67 RBI). Advantage: Even.

Third Base: Red Sox 3B Will Middlebrooks (.227, 17 HR, 49 RBI) has been riddled with injuries this season. Rays 3B Evan Longoria (.266, 31 HR, 86 RBI) finally had an injury-free season. Advantage: Rays.

Outfield: The Rays starting outfield for the playoffs consists of David DeJesus (.249, 8 HR, 37 RBI), Desmond Jennings (.252, 14 HR, 54 RBI), and Wil Myers (.295, 13 HR, 53 RBI). The Red Sox outfield consists of Daniel Nava (.303, 12 HR, 66 RBI), Shane Victorino (.294, 15 HR, 61 RBI), and the best leadoff hitter in the game in Jacoby Ellsbury (.298, 9 HR, 53 RBI, 52 SB). Advantage: Red Sox.

Designated Hitter: The career of Tampa Bay's Delmon Young (.263, 11 HR, 37 RBI) has come full circle with a resurgence at DH. The Red Sox has the best DH in baseball: David Ortiz (.309, 30 HR, 103 RBI). Advantage: Red Sox.

Starting Pitching: Both teams have solid starting staffs.

Tampa Bay: David Price (10-8, 3.33 ERA), Alex Cobb (11-3, 2.76 ERA), Matt Moore (17-4, 3.29 ERA), Chris Archer (9-7, 3.22 ERA).

Boston: Clay Buchholz (12-1, 1.74 ERA), John Lackey (10-13, 3.52 ERA), Jon Lester (15-8, 3.75 ERA), Jake Peavy (12-5, 4.17 ERA).

Advantage: Even.

Relief Pitching: Rays closer Fernando Rodney (5-4, 3.38 ERA, 37 sv) and Red Sox closer Koji Uehara (4-1, 1.09 ERA, 21 sv) have adjusted well after being setup men on their previous teams. Advantage: Even.

Looking at the matchup, I will have to pick Boston.

Prediction: Red Sox in four.
