Bradford, West Yorkshire- Court heard on Wednesday Sep, 18, 2013 about the “dreadful discovery” which police have made. They found a mummified dead body of a 4 year old boy in a cot of his mother's bedroom 21 months later his death. The child's 43 year old mother Amanda Hutton was accused for her son's death and sent for trial at Bradford Crown Court. She denied the fact and continued to claim child benefit for him.
The child was identified as Hamzah Khan who was still dressed in tiny baby grow which was made for 6 to 9 month old child. He was starved to death and due to malnutrition he still fitted in those cloths when his dead body was found in September 2011.
QC for the prosecution Paul Greaney told the jury that Hamzah died on 15 December 2009. His mother failed to feed him for long period so she had him starved to death. Prosecutors also claimed that Amanda was also abuser of alcohol and cannabis. The court heard that within hours of his death instead of calling 999 she ordered a takeaway pizza.
Neighbours were very disturbed about the smell coming around Amanda's house. Police community support officer Jodie Worsley spoke to Amanda and asked about the smell coming around the house. Eventually she called the other police officers for searching the reason of smell. Then a police officer Richard Dove made a dreadful discovery. He found a dead body of a boy buried under other items.
The case in still continued till further evidence.
