Miss Oklahoma Kelsey Griswold won Wednesday night's preliminary Miss America swimsuit competition, pageant officials announced in an emailed statement.
Griswold joins Tuesday night's preliminary winner, Miss Mississippi Chelsea Rick, in the winners' circle.
Griswold wore a black Catalina swimsuit. The victory entitles her to a $1,000 scholarship.
Griswold is an acting major at Oklahoma City University.
"Kelsey has been performing since the age of five beginning with Theatre Arts in Broken Arrow, Okla., where she learned to sing, dance, and entertain," according to her pageant profile. "She has won several awards, but none more life changing than at the age of 8 winning the Oscar Mayer Weiner Jingle Jam Contest when she appeared on the Rosie O’Donnell Show and was awarded a $20,000 scholarship. Kelsey has had the chance to perform all over the world including London, England, while she was studying abroad at Kingston University."
There will be one more night of preliminary competition, with a new Miss America scheduled to be crowned on Sunday. The final night of competition will be broadcast live from Atlantic City on the ABC television network, beginning at 9 p.m. ET.
