Serena Williams won over her compatriot Sloane Stephens with a comfortable straight sets 6-4, 6-1 in just one hour and 27 minutes and cruised into the quater-finals of 2013 US Open at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing Meadows.

Sloane Stephens is 11-years younger than Serena and at the end of the tournament, Stephens admitted that Serena was World No 1 and played like one and that she had no regrets of losing to her.

It was no cakewalk for Serena Williams, the 16-time Grand Slam champion and she was under pressure but she overcame the fears and came out fighting,

As she said - it was a fourth round match, but had the feelings of a quarter-final or a semi-final match.

She would now face Spanish 18th seed Carla Suarez Navarro.
