It was the dirty dozen of North Korea that faced the firing squad - among them was a singer Hyon Song-wol who was an ex girlfriend of North Korea supremo Kim Jong-un.
Their crime was - violating the North Korean laws of pornography - and the accused were executed in front of their families as well as members of the Unhasu Orchestra, Wangjaesan Light Band and Moranbong Band.
The culprits had been arrested on August 17 and were executed three days later.
The facts of the case as revealed by the South Korean newspaper Chosun Ilbo is that singer Hyon Song-wol and 11 others, all members of the performing groups Unhasu Orchestra and Wangjaesan Light Music Band, had been making videos of themselves having sex and they used to sell those videos in China.
Interestingly, Kim Jong-un and singer Hyon Song-wol had been very close for a long time but Kim's father did not approve of the relationship.
Kim Jong-un later met Ri Sol-ju - she was also a member of the Unhasu Orchestra before marrying Kim Jong-un.
No one knows whether she had any role to play in the execution of the dirty dozen.
