Russian Senate Delegation Meets Legislative Council Speaker

The Department of State Council welcomed a delegation from the Federation Council (Senate) of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Committee for the Science and Technology to a bilateral meeting yesterday at the Department of State Council's new building.

The Chairman of the Committee for Science and Education of the Federation Council (Senate) of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Chechenov Hussein Jabrailovich, led the Russian delegation.

The delegation was first welcomed to the office of the Speaker of the Legislative Council for a brief meeting with the Speaker, Pengiran Indera Mahkota Pengiran Anak (Dr) Kemaludin Al-Haj ibni Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Haji Mohd Yassin. Several members of the Legislative Council also attended the meeting.

Another meeting was held at a different venue in the Department of State Council's new building.

The Secretary to Council of Cabinet Ministers/Clerk of Legislative Councils, Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Jaya Dato Paduka Haji Judin bin Haji Asar, chaired the meeting. Several Legislative Council members attended the meeting.

The meeting was aimed at enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries. The Russian delegation is on a three-day visit to Brunei Darussalam.
