Holloween Safety for Kids
By scott cutcher
I am going to go over some pointers and guidelines for you all to read, regarding Halloween safety for kids. I know parent do a good job, i just want to give some pointers here.
1. Provide your child with a chem light (the green sticks you pop, that light up.) latch this somewhere visible. This will help you track your child in the event of a large group mix up.
2. Avoid houses in rural areas that are not well visible with lights and such. This will ensure your child is visible, and that he or she can also see where they are walking, to avoid holes and hazards.
3. Try and avoid houses with beware of dog signs, the door opens frequently, the pet could get out and attack/bite your child if not contained.
4. Make sure your child walks in front of you at all times. Anything can happen even in the good areas. A few are injury, falling and not noticing them. Kidnapping, i hate to say it but it does happen, bag snatchers. well you get the point.
5. This one is obvious, but make sure they are dressed accordingly, if they have a huge costume use thermal underwear.
6. make sure they know their phone number and address, supply them with coins to make a phone call in case of an emergency.
7. Bring a friend along to accompany them while trick or treating. Its always better to have More than 1 person.
8. Have all the candy checked by fire/police at your nearest check point. If its not available, check for loose wrapped candy, odd candy that you haven't seen before. Strange smells inside the bag. Or powder substances outside the candy.
Well there are a few, I hope it helps you and your children have a safe and fun Halloween.
