The search for Alexis Murphy has gone into overdrive after the discovery of her abandoned car not far from where she was last seen. Now the sentiment surrounding her disappearance is very negative -- with at least one family member using her name in the past tense, as if they fear she has been killed. The FBI also held a press conference today encouraging (more like pleading) the community to help search for this missing teen. Meanwhile, it's also been confirmed that there are no perceived connections between this case and the death of Morgan Harrington. However, there are still geographical similarities between both cases that do reasonably attract the question.
The missing teen's car has been found, but there are no signs of her whereabouts anywhere. This could be indicative of more than one theory. The car could have been parked there to throw people off. Alexis Murphy could have done this to keep from being found. On the other hand, this car could have been parked there to abandon it as bulky evidence of a crime.
If Alexis was kidnapped, she is in danger -- and the longer she is missing the more likely it becomes that murder will play a role in this case. Hopefully, in the end, this all turns out to be a voluntary disappearance, but it is beginning to look like something awful happened to the missing Virginia teen.
