Leader of Jamiaat Ulama-i-Islam(JUI, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, one of the leading religious Pakistani politician, has said President Musharraf should accept that the nation has rejected him and his supporters in the recent general elections. Talking to journalists after a meeting at Peshawar on Saturday, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman said that President Musharraf is completely wrong when says that that Pakistani people and particular in the North West Frontier Province have rejected religious elements in the recent general elections. Instead, Maulana said that people have rejected President Musharraf and his supporters and its time for him to step down. He further said that his party is in touch with the Pakistan People's Party leadership, formerly led by the slain leader, Benazir Bhutto. Maulana said that talks with the PPP leaders have entered into a final stage regarding a coalition government at center.
