It's bad enough that to completely give them the "star treatment."'s co-suspect in the slaying of Meredith Kercher is living here in the states, but now their little fan club wants the U.S. to grant Raffaele Sollecito full citizenship to keep him safe from the Italian justice system. As delusional as supporters of this woman could be these latest details are hard to read without laughing heartily. The two are officially suspects in the brutal slaying of a young woman, and it seems that their followers want the U.S. justice system
It seems that all of this desperation is indicative of what could be anxiety for the impending retrial. Perhaps Amanda and Raff's followers fear that they will be found guilty in the slaying of Meredith Kercher -- and instead of respecting the fruits of justice, they want the United States to violate their extradition treaty with Italy. That's asinine and speaks volumes of the characters of those who follow these murder suspects. Justice be damned: Don't jail the pretty girl and her boyfriend. It's a better love story than Twilight, right?
Officials representing the Italian High Court have already expressed sentiment that Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito may be acquitted all over again -- just on different evidence that acquitted them via Judge Hellmann's ruling. However, it should be noted that the likelihood of this is rather slim, considering the forensic and circumstantial evidence against Knoxy and her so called "former" lover.
There is also the issue with the different lies Amanda told over the course of the investigation and questioning over Meredith's murder. It's odd that an innocent woman would lie about such things as to whether or not she was even in the home with the woman while she was being assaulted and murdered. So it seems asinine that her followers even exist, much less the fact that they want both her and Raff to be given asylum here in the United States.
If Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito are found guilty in the murder of Meredith Kercher (again), then it will be in this country's best interests to abide by the extradition treaty. These two suspects are not military officials, nor are they members of congress, nor are they affiliated with the white house or any organization or group that is granted exile when international arrest warrants are concerned. Why on earth would the U.S. violate an extradition order for just these two suspects -- suspects with a tidal wave of evidence against them?
