I'm currently in Nairobi. The country is on fire.Kisumu, Eldoret, Kakamega are all on fire Kibera, Mathare, Kariobangi, Eastlands in Nairobi. My parents in Buru Buru say all they hear aregunshots.Unfortunately its mostly the slums that are affected. In the far distance you can see the fires in Kibera. Its so unfortunate that its the poor who are suffering. Westlands (where I am) is calm and quiet. This morning people were shopping atUkay and Westgate....After the looting in Kisumu all Nakumatts are closed across thecountry. Uchumi was open and they got overwhelmed by people stocking up. (we also stocked up at the Sarit Uchumi. The line was crazylong).Michuki has just made a decree: All media houses have been banned frommaking 'live' broadcasts or anything that can considered inciting. Basically an information blackout. some of the most relevantinformation is coming from Al Jazeera. Its on Al Jezeera that we heard that Raila has called for a rally atUhuru Park tomorrow to install him as "the people's president". I expect we will have a state of emergency declared in a few hours toforestall that. The E.U observer team has declared that they are not confident aboutthe results of the presidential results. They have proof that for Molo Constituency the results announced were 40,000 less than what wasannounced by the ECK in Nairobi. E.U. observers were kicked out ofthe KICC ECK nerve center with claims that the were slowing down thetallying process. It appears the 'cooking' of votes was happening at the ECK center atKICC.... ODM produced an ECK official to attest to this. With bothpieces of proof its hard to deny that something off did not happen at KICC. I strongly believe that Kivuitu does not know what washappening.Regardless, people are dying tonight and will continue to dieovernight. And tomorrow does not look good either.
