Fans were shocked during the second season of “Breaking Amish.” Many did not expect to see Kate, the bishop's daughter, kissing a girl. During the first episode of “Breaking Amish: The Shunning Truth,” which aired July 7 on TLC, Kate admitted as to why she kissed a girl.
Kate told the viewers the reason she kissed Violetta was because she was “finding herself.” Despite follow-up questions, Kate didn't go into further details. Surprisingly, she wasn't asked if she and Violetta were still in contact.
The first season of “Breaking Amish” found Kate to be lost in an English world, but fans were not expecting her to find herself by kissing a girl. Although rumors circulated that Kate was a lesbian and that was the real reason she left her Amish world, Kate denied she was lesbian last season.
Again this season, Kate denied she was a lesbian. She wouldn't even admit that she was curious. Kate simply said she was “finding herself” when she kissed a girl and left it at that.
Unless there is a third season of “Breaking Amish,” fans of the show may never know if Kate is really a lesbian or not. At the time of publication, fans of “Breaking Amish” are having to take Kate's word that she is not a lesbian.
