Being born as woman is really a gift of God and one should feel privileged as God has selected you to play a character of woman in this lifetime. Later on in life you are also showered with a beautiful pleasure of being a mother and realize absolute purpose of your birth on this planet. Being a mother is just not sufficient but taking proper care of your child also comes under same ambit. Providing proper nutrients and healthy diet should be on your priority list. Breast feeding to babies is considered the best way to nurture a child. From very ancient times, woman use to feed babies for years until they grew old enough.
Talking about history, feeding through breast was seen as something which was practiced in a royal sense. People used to hire wet nurses to feed their babies. Only low class people use to feed their babies on their own. Low class people use wet nurses only when it was not possible to feed babies due to any health problem. This practice of nursing continued to a very long period but as time changed, ways also changes. Woman started moving out of houses for work and decline in percentage of mothers’ breast feeding was statistically reported. Feeding with the use of natural human breast was considered as disgust and a low class thing. But from 1960, it took its revival and up till now this practice is continued. World health Organization have also stated in its yearly report related to woman and children that, babies must be breast fed in first six months. After that, babies can be fed till 2 years of age and even more for getting proper nutrition . If babies are properly nursed using breasts during first six months of their lives then babies cross danger line and come under a safer zone of life.
After knowing about breast feeding, now it’s time to talk about breast milk. As it is a known fact that lactation is advised for babies for first six months, it simply indicated there must be some nutrients and valuable proteins which are present in mother’s milk. Medically, all the properties of breast milk are yet not known but this is clear that it is highly beneficial for new born babies. Nutrients present in it, makes it healthy for babies. In simple words, it can be said that breast milk is formed by nutrients present in bloodstream of mother.
Exact amount of fat, protein, sugar and water which is needed for baby’s growth and development is available in this milk. Most important is to know that, along with increasing age of child and each session taken by baby for feeding through breast is responsible for the change in color of breast milk. To retain good properties of mother’s milk, mothers must stay away from alcohol, smoking, beverages and any caffeinated drinks, etc. One of the main reason, why breast milk is considered beneficial for babies is that it reduces risk of various diseases. Hence, mother’s breast feeding plays a vital role in growth and development of child and can ensure you child with a vibrant and bright future.
