Lon Snowden was concerned that WikiLeaks seeks to take advantage of the scandal and correctly advises his son

MEXICO CITY, Mexico, in July. 02, 2013. - The father of Edward Snowden, Lon Snowden, exalts the work of his son and compares it to the Patriot U.S. War of Independence, Paul Revere , famous for his "midnight ride" in the city of Concord.

"What you have done and are doing has awakened from a deep slumber to congressional oversight of intelligence information, in addition to imposing on the national agenda the question of whether Americans elect the right to be spied on by the government."

"You're a modern Paul Revere: calling the American people to confront the growing danger of tyranny and a government unilaterally," reads the open letter signed by Lon and his lawyer, Bruce Fein.

Last Friday, Lon Snowden told the NBC news channel that his son broke the law, but not a traitor. Also expressed concern that WikiLeaks seeks to capitalize on this scandal and not correctly advises his son.

The organization has revealed that tens of thousands of State Department cables American Union has helped Snowden to seek asylum in several countries. The U.S. has been implemented in Venezuela, Russia, Ecuador and 18 other countries.

Lon Bruce Fein Snowden and are arranging a return to the U.S. Snowden under circumstances which they consider fair. It also seeks to establish a direct conversation between father and son, without the mediation of Wikileaks.

Fein expects the open letter blur the debate about where to get Snowden, 30, asylum and focus on the NSA spying on citizens worldwide.
