ISLAMABAD: Indian government Wednesday officially announced to release as many as 62 prisoners of Pakistan that were detained on minor charges and would hand them over to Pakistan government via Pak-India Vahga border in Lahore.

The Indian government has sent a written letter to Pakistan government having official orders of the decision.

The prisoners to be released were arrested in 2007 in New Delhi’s Janter Manter Park as they protested against Pakistan government and burnt their passports there, protesting over the issue of Gohar Shahi sect.

Also, they demanded Indian nationality on the occasion and yearned to stay in India forever after which Indian government arrested them.
