Nadal Suffers Worst Wimbledon Upset, Serena Responds to Sharapova Comments

The 2013 Wimbledon scores on men's singles are now up in the draw table for the top half of the exciting first round on Monday. The Wimbledon scores live coverage continue for mens bottom half tomorrow at the outdoor grass courts of All England Club at London. The tournament goes smooth so far with no weather disruptions of games.

Steve Darcis of Belgium made some headline by pulling a stunning upset fifth-seeded Rafael Nadal in straight sets, 7–6(4), 7–6(8), 6–4. Ranked at 135th, Darcis made into the books as the first player to defeat Nadal in the first round of any grand slam. Nadal who just won the French Open earlier this month struggled but just came short as he vowed out of the tournament. He came back after a long layoff due to injury before winning his 12th Grand Slam at Roland Garros.

Defending champion Roger Federer opens the Wimbledon at the Centre Court having no problems in advancing the second round by beating Victor Hănescu of Romania 6-3, 6-2, 6-0. The Swiss maestro try to win back to back Grand Slam at the age of 31.

Other notable victories on Monday was the 32 year old Llyeton Hewitt of Australia pulling another upset against 11th seeded Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland in straing sets 6-4, 7-5, 6-3.

Local favorite No.2 seed Andy Murray defeated Boris Becker 6-4, 6-3, 6-2. But another local James Ward cannot pull it through as he lost to Yen-hSun Lu of Taiwan in grueling batlle 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 7-6. Six seed Jo-Wilfred Tsonga of France also advanced to the second round in defeating David Goffin 7-6, 6-4, 6-3.

The first round bottom half action returns tomorrow with No.1 seed Novak Djokovic will go against Florian Mayer of Germany at the Centre Court. Fourth seed David Ferrer of Spain will play against Martin Alund of Argentina.
