Medals at Sochi

With about eight months before the 2014 Winter Olympics begins in Sochi, Russia, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) unveiled the medals yesterday. In attendance for the presentation was Russian President Vladimir Putin.

This upcoming Winter Olympics will have twelve new sports added to the Games, which means that over 1,300 medals will be given out.

The design of the medals was closely guarded until yesterday. The Olympics logo of the five intertwined rings appears on the upper left-hand side of the medal above a mountain range. To check out the design, check out the above video at the one minute mark.
