The third round of 2013 French Open men's draw live coverage continues at the Roland Garros outdoor clay courts in Paris France. Hampered by rain delays, second seed Roger Federer finally leads the pack to advance the third round.

The 17-time major champion easily defeated Somdev Devvarman of India in second round 6-2, 6-1, 6-1 score of the French Open at Roland Garros clay courts. Federer will face 30th seeded local favorite, France's Julien Benneteau, who not only already beat Swiss once this year but also came within two points of upsetting him at Wimbledon in 2012.

After scoring an upset in the first round over No. 5-seeded Tomas Berdych, wild card Gael Monfils of France thrilled a partisan court crowd in beating Ernests Gulbis (Latvia) in another long battle 6-7(5) 6-4 7-6(4) 6-2.

Another local favorite No. 6 seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (France) scored a big win over Jarkko Nieminen of Finland 7-6(6), 6-4, 6-3 score. No.4 David Ferrer beat compatriot Albert Montanes of Spain 6-2, 6-1, 6-3. He will another Spanish Feliciano López in the third round.

Joining No. 2 Federer in the third round were No. 4 David Ferrer, No. 6 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, No. 10 Marin Cilic, No. 11 Nicolas Almagro, No. 14 Milos Raonic, No. 15 Gilles Simon, and No. 18 Sam Querrey, an American who was 1-6 in his Roland Garros career before this year and 2-0 this week.

Third seed and French Open defending champion Rafael Nadal will still play against M Kližan in the second round. Two of the world's top 10 are ruled out like No.2 Andy Murray and No.7 Juan Martín del Potro who withdrew from the tournament due to back injury and flu virus respectively.
