Inspectors from the Korean Food and Drug Administration have recalled snack products found to contain trace levels of the industrial chemical melamine.
The contaminant was found in Peanut Snickers Fun Size and M&M's both sold by Mars Korea, as well as KitKat mini from Nestle Korea and Lotte's Choudy, which is manufactured by Chinese subsidiary Lotte Qingdao Food.
The news comes amidst public worries lingering from report of melamine contamination in Chinese food imports on Sept.11. The KFDA is currently in the process of examining processed foods as well as vegetables imported from China for the hazardous substance.
