The actress and her husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, who have seen all the goods and bads of a married life like any other couple, have a lot of things to make couples envy them.

Paltrow owns property in New York, Los Angeles and London. She goes to France to shop for beauty products and spends two hours daily on her workout with a famous trainer. Still, when it comes to the married life, Paltrow says she is no different than anyone else.

"It's hard being married," Gwyneth Paltrow, 40, tells Glamour UK. "You go through great times, you go through terrible times. We’re the same as any couple.”

"I asked my dad once, 'How did you and Mom stay married for 33 years?' And he said, 'Well, we never wanted to get divorced at the same time,'" the "Iron Man 3" star continued. "And I think that’s what happens. When two people throw in the towel at the same time, then you break up, but if one person’s saying: 'Come on, we can do this,' you carry on."

No matter how often the world sees her smiling on the cover pages of famous magazines or throwing parties, Paltrow says that she has kept many of the “not so good” things from her fans regarding her personal life.

"I’ve had a great deal of suffering in my life. I’ve lost people -- my first cousin, my best friend in a car accident," said Paltrow, who recently revealed she had a miscarriage that put her own life in jeopardy. "I’ve had a lot of things happen to me that I don’t talk about in the press. I’ve had a lot of really heartbreaking, difficult things. But all of those things have strengthened my resolve to make the best of my life."

That motivation, combined with the love and respect she has for her songwriter husband, Paltrow says that she hardly ever questions Martin as to why he hasn’t reached home by now or where he has been.

“I never place demands on him because I think he’s a really talented man and he’s putting something good into the world," said Paltrow.

She further said that, despite the fights that all couples have to bear from time to time, Martin is a really good friend of hers and she truly cherishes the nine years of her married life she has spent with him.
