Actress and comedian Kat McKinnon, best known for her sketch comedy work as a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” and “The Big Gay Sketch Show”, entertained her fans yet another time by impersonating the maestro, Ellen DeGeneres. McKinnon began her journey with “SNL” on April 7, 2012, and soon she was able to gather a huge fan following because of her sassy personality and amazing ability to impersonate famous celebrities.
McKinnon also happens to be “SNL's” first openly lesbian cast member as well as the third gay cast member in the show's history. She is extremely fond of Ellen DeGeneres and enjoys impersonating her the most; in fact, DeGeneres’s impersonations are among her most popular impressions.
DeGeneres invited McKinnon on her show and requested she impersonate her on her program. McKinnon showed no hesitation; in fact, she was genuinely excited to pull it off. Fans were even excited about this stunt, as they knew something amazing would happen on the show.
DeGeneres handed McKinnon a new outfit and had her come back out in character. McKinnon hurried offstage and changed into a similar outfit as DeGeneres. She was welcomed with a lot of applause and cheering as she returned on the sets, dancing and swirling just like DeGeneres. “I’m vegan… I’m just kidding. I’m Ellen,” McKinnon joked to huge applause.
She then sat in DeGeneres’s chair and totally acted it up. Everybody, including DeGeneres, was exceptionally entertained by it.
It is impossible to deny that Kate McKinnon is Ellen DeGeneres’s perfect doppelganger. Those who missed the show on April 24 can visit Hollywood Life and enjoy the immaculate and hilarious impersonation.
McKinnon is famous for her strong character work and celebrity impressions. She has mastered this art since 2008. Back then, she used to perform live sketch comedy regularly at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City.
