    70 houses belonging to the Christian community has been burnt.

Oct 1: Despite 3 advisories sent by the Union Government, Khandamal district in Orissa continues to burn as tension prevailed in many parts of the District on wednesday. Reports have reached that about more than 30 houses in Benjamela and 40 houses in Beheragaon villages belonging to the Christian minorities have been torche.

In the wake of fresh incidents an additional of 10 more companies of the Central Reserve Police force have been deployed to assist the district administration and bring in the situation under control adding that around 42 companies of Central forces are in place in Kandhamal.
