CANCUN, Mexico - A group of armed men opened fire Thursday inside a bar located in a working class neighborhood in the resort city of Cancun, killing seven people and injuring four others, authorities said.
The local public security secretary Aiza Jesus said most of the victims belonged to an association of taxi drivers.
Aiza said the attackers arrived at the bar "The Little Mermaid", away from the tourist resort of Cancun in two vehicles. Two guys came and shot with automatic rifles, he added.
Aiza said that members of the armed forces guarding the hospital where the injured are cared for.
Police are still trying to determine the motive for the attack, he said.
