Sadly, her “day” has come.
One Day At A Time star , who played matriarch Anne Romano on the hit series of the 70′s and early 80′s, succumbed to her battle with pancreatic cancer this morning. She was 69 years old.
Her role on the series was believed was a “notable… showcase in feminism” (she was one of the first television characters who demanded she was called “Ms.”; a nod to the fact that Anne Romano was a divorcee) and allowed her to be nominated for two Golden Globes and an Emmy.
She was proceeded in death by husband Marvin Minoff (a film producer) in 2009 and had no children, other than the ones from her hit show.
She will be missed.
