It was a celebration 50 years in the making when the 23rd installment of the James Bond film franchise - “Skyfall” - has become the biggest selling Bond film in United Kingdom history. The film has earned two Academy Awards, and the flim's theme song has scored a Grammy Award. Now “Skyfall” leads the nominations for the Jameson Empire Awards.

The Jameson Empire Awards is an entirely fan voted award by the movie going public. Less “stuffy” than the industry voted awards, the Empire Awards feature a number of productions that have escaped the attention of the industry “professionals”.

The 18th annual Jameson Empire Awards do not include a host who finds it necessary to “bully” his audience for jokes or offend the nation with off colour insults; but allows the winners to thank everyone they wish at their lesure and is a totally laid back affair.

The show being billed as “the antidote to Oscar fever” will take place exactly one month after the Oscar Awards on March 24
