At least 15 people were killed and 32 wounded on Wednesday morning in an accident involving a bus they were traveling in Ciloto pilgrims in the city of West Java Cianjur, as confirmed by a local policeman.

Antara news agency quoted the head of the traffic police Cianjur, Dewo Sadewo, saying that 20 of the 32 survivors of the accident suffered serious injuries, while the remaining 12 passengers suffered from minor wounds.

"Most of the wounded have been evacuated to the nearest hospital, while some of them have been transferred to a larger hospital in Cianjur" said Sadewo. Most of the dead were elderly, the source said.

According to police, the bus failed to make a turn very tight and fell off a cliff, which led to the final clash. The bus was full of pilgrims heading to a sacred place of Cianjur.
