The suspect in the killing of the Tunisian opposition Shokri Belaïd and his accomplice were arrested. This was reported today by Agence France-Presse reported, citing sources in the police circles.
According to the agency, the alleged killer of a 31-year-old master for the production of furniture. He was arrested in a suburb of the capital Tunis Carthage. His accomplice, a motorcyclist who helped the killer get away with murder.
Leader of the opposition "Democratic Party united patriots" Shokri Belaïd two unidentified men were killed in Tunis on 6 February this year. 48-year-old politician was fatally shot a few shots on the doorstep of his house in one of the capital's neighborhoods.
His death sparked widespread publicity, triggering a wave of unrest across the country. This incident exacerbated the political crisis that forced Prime Minister Hamadi Dzhebali resign. Earlier, the authorities have reported the arrest of suspects, but did not specify any of the individual, or the number.
