The monorail in the Dallas Zoo derailed and firefighters had to rush to the rescue of 100 passengers who were left stranded at a height of nearly 20 feet as reported in foxnews.com of dated 24th of February 2013.
The reasons for stoppage of the monorail are not known but it seems the monorail was at its lowest height it can reach in its 20-minute ride.
The firefighters had to make use of five extension ladders to make the rescue which took about 30-minutes.
Thus monorail of Dallas zoo is believed to be unique and is the only one that can climb and turn while taking the guests on a one-mile tour through a myriad of scenarios like a bush, desert, forest, wooded lands and mountains.
