Within the Ruins… I don’t really know what to say about the band… they have more ex band members than current and they are from Westfield, MA. I am going to make this one short today.
The intro to this album seems pointless. Its entitled “Terminal” and I see a bunch of people skipping over this track. The next track “Solace” doesn’t really catch my attention. The guitars sound are so animated and computerized on this track. And that goes for all the guitars on this album. I can say some of the guitar work is very complex but it’s random at times. The production on this album is way too tight. The vocals are so so. Tim Goergen has a limited vocal range but he manages to throw some variances in. The lyrics aren’t the best. At a point you feel the album repeats its self but you find out that you’re only on the 7th track out of 11. Even the break downs on this album are washed out and boring. I do have a favorite song, “Absolute Hell” because it’s pretty heavy. But it doesn’t have much replay ability and that goes for the whole album. Oh and the last track on the album "Dreamland" is a good instrumental to listen to.
Overall “Elite” isn’t going to be excited over. I feel like the band should experiment more and relax the damn production a bit. “Elite” gets 1.5 out of 5.
