27 more years of promoting the climate change crisis exaggeration isn’t helping anyone or the planet. We need to put the fear mongering aside and work together to continue good stewardship and celebrate defeating the smoggy 70’s when a river caught fire in Ohio and other accomplishments. We all want the same thing so can we stop the demonizing and needless panic and learn to love the planet with love again, not fear.
*Occupywallstreet does not even mention CO2 in its list of demands because of the bank-funded carbon trading stock markets run by corporations.
*Canada’s voters had already killed Y2Kyoto with a freely elected climate change denying prime minister and nobody cared, especially you fear mongers and the millions of scientists warning us of unstoppable warming (a comet hit).
Meanwhile, the entire world of SCIENCE had condemned our kids to the greenhouse gas ovens of an exaggerated "crisis" and had allowed bank-funded and corporate-run “CARBON TRADING STOCK MARKETS” to trump 3rd world fresh water relief, starvation rescue and 3rd world education for just over 27 years of insane attempts at climate CONTROL.

This is another utopian liberal wet dream that will only serve to create million dollar paychecks for people like Al Gore who on the one hand cry foul about carbon footprints and pollution but on the other hand they travel the country in their fancy lear jets which pollute the environment just as much. The hoax that it is Global Warming has been exposed already. Please read the emails that were uncovered in the East Anglia University scandal. This was rejected soundly during his first term, so please keep this hoax as far away as possible. THere is not enough money in the world that could make mother nature do as you wish.

Excellent report, Dava.

Approving They Keystone XL pipeline would be a catastrophic mistake and send the opposite message that Obama has been sending on combating climate change. Although the administration is under incredible pressure from Republicans and special interest groups to approve the permit for the XL, with the argument of jobs and reduction of foreign oil dependency, it isn't worth the risk of getting locked in to decades of dirty tar sand extractions.

Conservatives can wail all they want about global warming being a hoax and the same tired arguments they have used for years, but extreme weather will continue to increase and the cost in damages and human misery is no longer being ignored by reasonable people.

Thank you all for reading and commenting.

Being on the right side of history takes courage, and believers in climate change are not giving up because we care about the future of human beings and the planet.

Even with some naysayers, the majority of the scientific community agree climate change is happening now. Granted some of it could be related to natural courses, but we also have to realize the impact modern civilization and population are having in combination with natural occurrences. This has not happened in the past.

This is yet another example of special interests, namely big oil, putting their profits ahead of the health of the planet. Political corruption turns deadly when it comes to climate change and the only way to stop it is for the public to make their voices heard very loudly.

Thank you for reading and commenting itobin.

The only way to stop big oil is campaign finance reform, but until that happens we have to keep writing about the science so people will know the truth.

Climate change is truly a manufactured crisis, completely by our own dependence on fossil fuel technology. The latest GAO report warns that we may be past the point of no return, the point where any efforts on our part may be futile in reversing the ravages of greenhouse gases on our planet. Solar is the answer, but Big Oil has to embrace the profit potential of it and transition to it... time is running out, and yes, it is drawing attention away from clean water and starvation of the masses, but the three priorities are interconnected... solve one, and you make progress on the other two... Thanks for the excellent report!

Thank you for reading and gracious comments Tom

Yes, I have read it might be too late already. Still, we have to try. I wouldn't want my grandson asking me why I didn't do anything 20 years from now.

Interesting report.
Whilst climate change is something we should worry about there are more pressing matters. World powers look set to destroy this beautiful planet of ours with more than environmental damage right now. War is coming.

Eileen makes an excellent point. Secondly, why should we place the burden on our taxpayers once again, when the biggest culprits of polluting the air like China, India and other countries will continue to do so. With so many other pressing issues to worry about, this is not the right time to start with this silliness.
