Skooter reports 02/12/13
An overly intellectual 13-year-old named "Elmo" charged with attempted murder shooting into a crowd of people in East Harlem was arraigned today.
Elmo Williams had supposedly pulled a 9 mm pistol and tried to shoot a rival 14-year-old in front of Jefferson Houses just after school classes were dismissed on Thursday. The young man was ordered by Manhattan Family Court Judge Stewart Weinstein to remain in a juvenile detention facility, and set Feb. 27 for his next hearing.
Luckily there was no one injured, and Williams dropped the gun and ran when cops arrived, and was arrested almost immediately.
Williams’s bro who is his legal guardian and several other family members accompanied him at court.
