On February 8 the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences held their innaugural International Emmy Kid's Awards in New York City. The awards were presented by an international cast. The International Academy President Bruce L. Paisner spoke on the event saying, “ With this new event solely dedicated to kids programming, the International Academy is proud to be the premiere global platform for excellence in children’s television.”
The International Academy is comprised of members from 50 countries.
Best Kids Series: “Junior High School Diaries: Harmony of Two” from Japan
Best Non-Scripted Kids Entertainment: “Energy Survival” from Norway
Best Preschool Kids Programming: “El Jarkin de Clarilu” from Argnetina
Best Factual Kids Program: “Newsround – My Autism and Me” from the United Kingdom
Best Animated Kids Program: “The Amazing World of Gumball” from the United Kingdom
Best Kids TV Movie or Mini Series: “Lost Christmas” from the United Kingdom
