Iran unveils new fighter aircraft touted as ultra-modern

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced today a new fighter aircraft touted as "one of the most advanced in the world," during ceremonies marking the 34th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic revolution.

This device forms futuristic called "Qaher-313" ("Conqueror 313"), was "designed and built by Iranian engineers" and "among the fighters the most advanced in the world," said Ahmadinejad quoted by Iranian media during the inauguration.

He added that the aircraft had already stolen "thousands of hours" and that its pilots were "very satisfied with its performance."

The new aircraft stealth design, shown on television on a shelf in a warehouse, has a particular "signature very low radar is built with modern materials and has an advanced avionics," according to the Minister of Defense Ahmad Vahidi was quoted by the media.

It is also able to land on short runways, and "can be repaired quickly and easily," said the minister, adding that it was designed to "meet all the needs of the Iranian Air Force in air war ".

The "Qaher-313" is "a defensive project," said Ahmadinejad, stressing that "the Iranian military did not intend to attack and dominate other countries, but is purely deterrent."
