Ed Koch was one of the most interesting mayors in the history of New York City. May he rest in peace at last.

Bravo! Agreed! I also think John V. Lindsay was also a great mayor and one of New York's most under appreciated chief executives.

Koch did a lot to make NYC what it is today; the mayors of today's large cities should study history, take notes, and implement some of Koch's strategies.

Thank you, Phylis ... and I completely agree. Too often we forget history and how things were done. Koch took a near bankrupt city and turned it around. His strategies and approaches in government are as useful today as they were when he was in office.
