Marc Anthony splits from girlfriend Shannon de Lima

Marc Anthony has broken up with his model girlfriend, Shannon de Lima, after dating for more than a year. According to the Daily Mail, the news of the split was announced by his representative, Blanca Lasalle, to People magazine.

His representative told the magazine that the pair parted ways amicably in mid-January. Blanca Lasalle said, “Marc is no longer dating Shannon de Lima. The amicable break-up became official right in mid-January.”

Anthony, 44, and De Lima, 24, became a couple last year in January as the singer took to Twitter to express his feelings for the model and described her as “my statue of liberty.”

According to reports, Anthony seemed quite content and comfortable with Lima before his representative revealed the breakup. The couple was seen together on January 16 at Marquee in New York City and an insider revealed at the time that the star and his girlfriend had a great time together.

The source said, “Shannon was dancing up a storm with her friends while sipping champagne and taking iPhone photos of themselves and the light show. At one point, Shannon even jokingly gave Marc a lap dance when Pitbull came on.”

However, another source confirmed to People magazine that although the pair greatly enjoyed each other’s company, their relationship appeared to have lost the charm. The source revealed, “The truth is they have been having a great time together, but it no longer worked.”

Anthony was married to Jennifer Lopez before their seven years marriage crumbled. They tied the knot in 2004 and became parents to twins, Max and Emme, who are 4-year-old now. The pair split in July 2011 and Marc filed for divorce in 2012. The couple has since remained on friendly terms and worked on Latin TV show “Q’ Viva! The Chosen”.

It is believed that Lopez, former judge on “American idol”, recently paid a secret visit to Anthony at his New York hotel. It has been revealed by a source that 43-year-old J-Lo spent a couple of hours in the company of her former husband at The Mark hotel. It was also observed that Anthony later came out with his head bent down so that nobody noticed.

The eyewitness revealed, “He came out really quickly, with his head down, like he didn’t want to be seen.”

According to reports, Lopez, who was wearing thigh-high stiletto boots and a leopard-print mini dress, later emerged with a mysterious grin on her face.

Lopez recently disclosed in an interview that the divorce had devastating effects on her life. She said that she felt like her “whole world had fallen apart.”
