Media plays a vital role in our daily life. We all enjoyed many programs and dramas on PTV as they were full of entertainment and knowledge. However, now a day’s programs which are transmitting on television must be censored PG (under parents guidance). They are not showing our own culture but representing western or Indian culture that can influence badly and can penetrate into our generation’s mind. Like, many dramas are showing white dress on death ceremony, which is purely a Hindu religious custom. We have to avoid it otherwise it will create many problems in our society. As many programs we saw were against dowry, I appreciate those programs but on the other hand, media is also promoting new customs in marriage ceremony. Majority of us belong to middle class and cannot afford all that due to our instability of budget. Upper class can easily afford all that lavish and do. However, there is no need to showoff these types of new editions in our society. As we massively embrace new forms of media, is it possible to maintain their benefits while avoiding their problems. Many of the problems with new media, I believe, can reduce through a proper social regulation of their availability and use, along with adjustments to the social environment in which they are used. Media have to represent programs for majority. I request the authorities that please do not play with emotions of this nation that is already suffering since 1947.
