DAVAO CITY, Philippines -- The Mountaineering Federation of the Phils. Inc. (MFPI) is holding its 35th National Annual Climb at the Island Garden City of Samal on April 25-28 this year.
"This is a Highland to Island activity with the first 150 participants to receive a personalized limited edition of the 35th MFPI mug," said local organizer Danilo "Jhun" Bacus, vice-president for Mindanao of MFPI at the weekly SCOOP of the Royal Mandaya Hotel last Tuesday.
The four-day event will be held in coordination with the Mountaineering Federation of Southern Mindanao (MFSM), Bagtak and TRIMMOC.
The Seagrass Beach Resort is the base camp while participants can choose at two destinations from four available exciting destinations in Samal.
"They can climb the island's highest peak Puting Bato or enjoy the Maxima Aqua Fun Resort, Hagitmit Falls or the Monfort Bat Cave," Bacus said.
Aside from the annual President's Meeting, also included in the itinerary and list of activities that can be attended are the Basic Ropemanship Seminar, Basic Orienteering, Basic Kayak Clinic & Race, Basic Frisbee Clinic and competition, Team Building, Global Warming film showing, Inter-Club Macho Gay contest, Fun Mini-Adventure Race, Parlor Games, Trekking Over Night, Fellowship Night, Slide for Life, Accoustic and Reggae Bands.
Registration fee is P850 inclusive of a souvenir jersey, ID, certificate, lunch on Day 1, hosted dinner, beer, transportation from Davao to Samal, bag tag, transportation and entrance fee of the two destinations, token, souvenir photo and event CD.
