Skooter reports 01/14/13

A thinner woman might have died from that fall, a 400-pound Queens pedestrian who gone down through an Upper East Side sidewalk said yesterday.

Ulanda Williams, 32, told The Post she was thanking God and she said people believed that her size was the only thing that saved her. She was discharged from NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

What happened was that a 4-by-6-foot section of sidewalk had caved in into a vault cellar in front of the building that she was standing on, City Department of Buildings inspectors said.

Williams who stands about 6-foot-5 said that while she was standing there before it occurred, approximately 10 seconds, she just fell right through.

A crane and cargo net was used by the FDNY to pull her out.
