Hotel Atlantis : the mith' s charm

Yesterday, the 24th of September, Atlantis one of the most luxurious and extravagant hotels in the United Emirates, was launched. Atlantis is located in Dubai ( The United Emirates ) on the man-made island , shaped like a palm tree , called ’ Palm Jumeirah ’ , the isle is connected by land by two modern bridges with a span of 300 m. The hotel is named after the mystical isle of Atlantis which, according to the philosopher PlatoPlato, disappeared in one night probably due to a huge seaquake.

Atlantis was the first hotel to be opened and built on Palm Isle and surely will be one of the most wonderful attractions in the Emirates, not only for its hotel but also for its fantastic water park (which has a fish population of 65000). The Aquadventure which has a half mile river ride, in addiction a beautiful children’s playground and finally an amazing dolphin centre. Additionally there is a kid’s club, a night club and boutiques transforming this construction into a ‘small’ and wonderful city.

The hotel has got a mystique charm with its spectacular façade and its elaborate internal decoration . The rooms are designed with a subtle oceanic and Arabic influences with spectacular views of Arabian Gulf from the isle . But Atlantis stands out for its luxury Bridge Suites ( £ 15000 per night per night ) which by the way , only nawabs and politician can afford it . These suites are the essence of pure luxury with 3 bedrooms , 3 bathrooms , a huge living room and a gold-guilt table .

The hotel , anyhow , received lots of criticism by environmental groups which blamed the constructors of ‘Palm Jumirah’ of serious damage to the in-situ barrier reef.

Alan Leiban president of ‘Kerzner International’ the society which is finishing all the projects on the isle , says that Atlantis is going to have a lot of success and is already considered a winning bet . Leiban states that “ It will be difficult for people not to come once in their life to Dubai “.
