According to officials, there are at least 60 injured by a ferry crash against a pier in the East River, not far from Wall Street.

The initial reports point that one of the injured is "in sarcastic state" with head injuries, according to information provided by the authorized program office AP.

The company which owned the ferryboat is Seastreak. It reported the "incident" in a news by NBC. Then in statements by Chairperson James Barker : "There was an impact (when the ferry hit the dock), throwing people against their seats and walls. "

The incident occurred at 8:45 local time at the Manhattan Pier 11, which was blinking straightaway officially by the tweets of the incumbency in aim.

At least 57 people were injured at around 8:45 a.m. Wednesday morning when a ferry crashed into a dock at a pier in Lower Manhattan, New York. According to CNN, one person is in critical condition and is being treated at a nearby hospital.

A total of 343 people, including five crew members, were aboard the ferry when it slammed into the dock during rush hour.

Update:

The most seriously wounded suffered "serious injuries" to the head and is being operated at the Cornell University Hospital.

The ferry is a catamaran of 43 meters long and has a hole in its starboard hull as a result of the collision, as can be seen in shots taken from helicopters of the television.

The ship made the service called "Wall Street" between Highlands (New Jersey) and Manhattan (a journey of 40 minutes) and, although it has a maximum capacity of 400 people, was carrying 343 passengers and 5 crew.
